Welcome to Sunset Weather

The idea for a “Sunset Model” was sparked from my interest in both meteorology and photography. It is important to have both meteorological models as well as models that can be very useful and sensible; a way to communicate certain phenomena that meteorological data can output for public use. Because of this, Ben Reppert, Steve Hallett, and I (Jacob DeFlitch) began to create the “Sunset Model.” There are numerous meteorological factors used within the model, however we do not plan on announcing the specifics at this time, but instead release a quick summary of the variables in the model. The model itself takes primary elements into account: Moisture, pressure, and cloud cover. Using our knowledge of the atmosphere, we started with a basic idea of what variables are important, and their relative importance to one another.
